India : 47 years of MTP Act and 300 million murdered

(Live Action News) August 10, 2018 – “Man will turn into the cancer of the planet,” said Julian Huxley after seeing crowds gathered on the banks of the Ganges in India. During his tenure as the Minister of Health and Family Planning in India, Chandrasekhar, an associate of Huxley and a close friend of Margaret Sanger (and a member of the British Eugenics Society), made sure to carry forward his fellow eugenicists’ dream by opening India’s doors to abortion.

August 10, 2018, marks the 47th anniversary of legalized abortion in India through the Medical Termination of Pregnancy Act (1971). The country legalized abortion with one of the most permissive laws of the time while abortion was illegal and unthinkable for most reasons in many parts of the world. The law was passed as a result of mounting international pressure to control India’s population. This began the carnage of unborn children through abortion in the country.

“Official” abortion numbers are grossly underestimated

The government figures on the number of abortions committed so far since 1971 is around 25 million. However, this figure does not represent the true number of abortions; it only accounts for abortions committed at government-approved facilities by registered practitioners. Therefore, illegal sex-selective abortions, legal abortions committed at private hospitals, and medication abortions (RU-486) obtained over-the-counter or on the black market are not included in this data.

Since the year 2000, the government has been reporting that an average of 700,000 abortions were committed in registered facilities in the country annually. But several reports over the years contradict this number significantly.

Since 1976, several reports have claimed that 4-7 million abortions occur annually in India. Chabbra and Nuna (1994) found that an estimated 6.7 million abortions were committed in the country annually — and in 2002, the Abortion Assessment Project of India estimated an annual figure of 6.4 million. UNICEF’s report (1996) estimated 5 million annually.

But, even more shocking, a recent study conducted by IIPS (the International Institute of Population Sciences) and the Guttmacher Institute listed the actual incidence of abortion in India for 2015 at 15.6 million — a figure twenty times higher than the government reports.

Abortion pill sales have skyrocketed

According to a report published in Lancet Global Health, in 2016, India recorded a staggering annual sale of 11 million doses of mifepristone and misoprostol — the RU-486 abortion pill regimen. (To compare, in 2012, 7 million were sold, and in 2011, 6 million.) These packs can only be used for abortion. The Indian government has allowed the use of mifepristone and misoprostol for abortion since 2002 — and in just five years (2002 to 2007), the country saw a whopping 646% increase in the sale of abortion pills. The total market for abortion pills in India is 400 crores ($4 billion).

Sex-selective abortions are still prevalent

The data on the prevalence of sex-selective abortions also paints a bleak picture. Almost 4.2 to 12.1 million sex selective abortions were committed in a period of three decades (1980-2010). This data correlates with recent estimates by the Population Research Institute, derived from the figures provided by India’s government, that 11 to 14 million sex-selective abortions were committed since 1990. Abortion promoters around the world celebrate ‘chemical abortion’ as liberating, empowering, modern and reliable. But in India, it has exacerbated the problem of gendercide, targeting women even before they’re born.

There is a widespread consensus among scholars that the annual estimate of 6 million abortions is an underestimate. But even taking these low estimates as an average, one can see that the number of preborn children killed in India totals nearly 300 million.

Last year, the Prime Minister’s office disapproved of an attempt to extend the legal abortion limit to 24 weeks after a Sangili incident in which aborted baby girls were fed to dogs. However, another effort this year, backed by the National Commission for Women, the government is seeking to extend legal abortion to 24 weeks. For preborn babies with disabilities, there would be no limit, and abortions could be committed up to birth.

If this effort is passed, India will soon surpass China in the slaughter of massive numbers of preborn children.

The opposite of Love is fear, not hate. I don’t know who said this, but it makes a lot of sense specially when trying to understand the family planning movement in India. The seeds of fear sown since 1960’s through the famous book called Population Bomb makes an average Indian a monster in the eyes of a westerner. He/She becomes an enemy instantly. In the opening remarks of his book Paul Elrich describes his experience in the streets of Delhi as below:

“I have understood the population explosion in- tellectually for a long time. I came to understand it emotionally one stinking hot night in Delhi a couple of years ago. My wife and daughter and I were returning to our hotel in an ancient taxi. The seats were hopping with fleas. The only functional gear was third. As we crawled through the city,
we entered a crowded slum area. The temperature was well over 100, and the air was a haze of dust and smoke. The streets seemed alive with people. People eating, people washing, people sleeping. People visiting, arguing, and screaming. People thrusting their hands through the taxi window, begging. People defecating and urinating. People clinging to buses. People herding animals. People, people, people, people. As we moved
slowly through the mob, hand horn squawking, the dust, noise, heat, and cooking fires gave the scene a hellish aspect. Would we ever get to our hotel? All three of us were, frankly, frightened. It seemed that anything could happen—^but, of course, nothing did. Old India hands will laugh at our reaction. We were just some overprivileged tourists, unaccustomed to the sights and sounds of India. Perhaps, but since that night I’ve known
the feel of overpopulation.”

But people do not know to this day that when he wrote the above text and created the panic of overpopulation in India, Delhi’s population was only 3 million with 573 square miles land area. Now in 2017, the population of New York city is more than 8 million living in 302 square miles. Should we line them up and sterilize them? May be provide them with some gifts as incentive to be sterilized?

The whole point am trying to get here is, India is not exploding anymore, there’s no more population explosion taking place. Millions of U.S. tax payer dollars have been poured into abusing our families and this has to end. Enough is Enough.

Why should I do Sidewalk Counseling when there’s no turnaround?

I have been involved in sidewalk counseling for over three years now and haven’t had a single ‘save’. So, why should you be there at the abortion clinic trying to offer help when there is no visible sign of change of heart encountered personally? I mean, when there is no turnaround, when there is not a single sign of a child’s life has been saved because you were there? These are few questions that I encountered, continue to encounter and happen to share with some of my friends doing the same work. These questions might sound silly and could also be answered in simple ways but it’s never enough for those in similar position. I always found them to be unsettling. But lately I’ve been looking deeper into what I experience standing at these places where babies die every day.

I do sidewalk counseling at one of the most busiest abortion clinics in United States. They’re open seven days a week, from 7 am – 10 pm. Even on Christmas day and New Years day. Below are some of my experiences which bring reassurance every time the same question raises in my head. Why should I be here in front of this clinic when I don’t get a turnaround, when I don’t get to save the life of a child?

Monsignor Reilly of Helpers of God’s Precious Infants introduced me to this place. I did what he asked me to do. “Stay there and give this material to the mothers as they come, tell them either their friend or someone in need would find help in this information and give them the rosary.” As much as I was terrified at being in front of an abortion clinic, I was beyond terror in the idea of handing out rosaries in the public. I did it anyway. At the end of each day I kept telling him : I’m not sure if am called to do this, am not good at speaking to people, am an introvert and I like it that way, this is out of my comfort zone and most of all my ultimate card is ” I don’t get any turnarounds” which i thought was a sign to me that I wasn’t meant to do Sidewalk Counseling. Every time I came up with any of these excuses he used to say, “Don’t say that, you do not know how many lives your’e saving. People don’t really come back and say but there are hearts transformed and babies saved.” This wasn’t enough for me. But I continued doing what I was doing for months and all of a sudden these things started happening to me. When I began to ponder on those incidents, I began to find my answers. May be these might be of help to you in your sidewalk journey.

  1. Yesterday a man kept starring at me in an anticipation of having a conversation. After 10 minutes he came up and asked, “what’s happening here?” I told him that this was an abortion clinic which performs abortions up to 6 months. I could the see shock in his eyes. He kept shaking his head in disbelief saying “they’re playing God, this is life” and so on. We kept talking about the place and the help offered to the mothers etc. He said he was recently baptized and going through a difficult time himself with questions about the purpose of life and meaning of his existence and that he was being tempted to commit suicide. He kept giving himself reassurance as he shared his battle with thoughts of suicide. I could see how depressed and broken one must be to try to find help and hope that with a simple sign of God (I was holding bunch of Rosaries in my hand ) that they try to do the right thing. I reminded him to hold on and that times of rest is on the way and that he’s precious in God’s eyes. His eyes welled up. He said he will try to remind himself about that. I was present in front of the clinic that day just for him to know that God loves him and that his life matters.
  2. I happen to speak with a young woman the same day as I offered her the brochure along with the rosary. She never knew this place performed abortions too. I told her how as she sat in the waiting room some babies get to live and some get to die. She was shocked because she was there for her general check up. I encouraged her to find some other place. On her way back she came to me and asked how I do this work because she wanted to help. I gave her the number of Sisters of Life to get started. I was present in front of the clinic that day to show her that she can be a witness to life. Who knows, she might begin Sidewalk counseling some day or become a prolife warrior herself.
  3.  Last month I was in my usual spot. I should confess it was a slow day for me. I didn’t handout much brochures or approach many people. It was one of my low days. As I was about to leave with a empty and indifferent heart a woman came close to me and asked what I was doing. I explained myself and she said “I don’t believe in abortions, but I can’t say to someone else, you know there are women who get raped”. Uhh rape! really! I’ll try my best to handle this I told myself. I agree with you partly I said, but the child didn’t rape her right, would you say the child is a victim or perpetrator? She looked at me and suddenly turned her gaze away saying, true- but let me tell you, her “true” wasn’t loud enough. I spoke with her for next 10 minutes all of a sudden she began to cry. She said she was the 9th child to her mother, her mom had her and her sisters when the father left her, she brought them all up by herself and she could never see anymore more stronger than her mom. I reminded her of women’s strength and love is stronger than death. She thanked me and she wants to meet her mom right away and thank her for having her. She said “I could have easily ended up as an abortion myself, i should go and meet my mom it’s her birthday this week”. I was there that day at the clinic just for this to happen.
  4. A couple were rushing past by me after parking their car. The husband got curious at the bunch of rosaries and asked me if it was for sale. I told him “It’s free, but could you please say a prayer for the mothers and the babies inside please, this is an abortion clinic.” He was shocked, called his wife, she was ahead of him so he shouted, “honey this is an abortion clinic”. May be this is why the clinic gets mad at me. lol. She came back, they both took a rosary and promised to pray. I was there at the clinic so people would know human beings are killed and that the modern day gulags, Dachau and Ravenbrucks are among us even today. Not outside the city but right in the middle of the city.
  5. I handed out a brochure to a woman who came of the clinic with my usual explanation. She said “Oh no, am not doing abortion, am trying to have baby”. I tried to bring her to senses as how could babies get to live and get killed at the same place. She pulled her phone out and showed the picture of her 17 year old son who she had even when the father of the child left her. “thank you so much for doing this” she said. I encouraged her to find some other place for her prenatal care. She knew what it was to have a child when the father has abandoned, she showed me how important it is that someone is in front of abortion clinics to remind moms that they can do it. Hopefully she finds another prenatal provider.
  6. A Muslim woman stopped and asked me what I was doing. She stopped by looking at my nose ring thinking if I was a bengali or bangladeshi. I told her am neither. She thought I was an evangelist. I told her I give rosaries to people since a lot of them need a sign of God which gives them hope, I don’t force it on people and explained her about the place and the work. She sounded strong in her position against abortion and promised to pray. We had such a good conversation even though we were from different religion. I was there that day and found out no matter the difference of religion people can see the objective truth. May be someday sidewalk counseling will become a reality in India.
  7. A man who works for the city and maintains the sidewalk has been observing me for couple of days. He came up and asked me if I was evangelizing and what church I go to. I explained to him about the real purpose (may be I was evangelizing indirectly, lol, who knows) He asked for a rosary and promised to pray. He prayed with me for few minutes before leaving and encouraged me to continue my work. I was there showing people what this place is about, what’s going on inside and collecting prayers. Those who know the power of prayer can see what can happen and what is possible.

I haven’t had a turnaround. I do not know if a mother changed her heart and chose life for her baby. But each day that I am at this place people stop to thank me for what I do, remind me that they’re glad somebody is there, get to know that it’s a place where children are put to death, promise to pray for this evil to end etc. These are far more visible signs for me to be there and do what I have been doing.

Monsignor once said “at the Calvary Jesus was put to death, the disciples went back discouraged and consumed by fear and despair, but the reality is He rose again on the third day. This place is modern day Calvary. You cannot leave the babies die alone. You have to be there to show them that they’re being loved. they’re innocent and go to God but the mother who comes out, comes to know the truth of abortion and for her we’ll be a sign of God’s unconditional love. Since she has seen the truth about abortion, she’ll think about you the next time. We’re there not simply to save bodies but to save souls.”

If you’re someone in similar position as I am remember, when you’re there in front of the clinic you’re there for the babies as you would be for Jesus on the Cross in Calvary. The children will know that you were there for them, fought for them, prayed for them and no child should be left to die alone and unloved.

Why did I write to 167 Bishops of India?

wrote to almost all the Bishops in India, including the office of the Nuncio. I had to write to all of them because there is just too much innocent blood flowing down the nation.

This August 10th marks the 47th anniversary of legalized abortion in India. So far, the total estimate of children killed by abortion since 1971 is unknown. But research published in 2017 shows that the total number of abortions performed in India for the year 2015 alone must be 15.6 million.

India legalized abortion on August 10th, 1971 through the Medical Termination of Pregnancy Act. But so far there is no single day of remembrance or observance of this horrible day. There are no vigils, protests, public prayer or marches of any sort. It’s just another day in India because India is busy “developing” herself as the fastest growing economy in the world as she stands tall on the pile of butchered bodies of our own babies. We literally practice ‘Narabali’ (human sacrifice) in order to achieve the status of a “Developed Nation”.

Every time we observe the Day of Prayer for the Protection of Unborn children and participate in the January 22 March for Life in the U.S we join with almost a million Americans who stand up for the unborn children killed by abortion in their country and my heart longs for those children murdered in India. Nobody mourns for our children killed by the legal abortion in our country. They are not remembered, their death easily erased off without a memorial. So I thought why not write to the Bishops requesting them to offer Mass and to encourage priests under their leadership to do so as well on August 10th?

With prayers and guidance from a few well-wishers, I embarked on this weird task. I wrote to almost 170 bishops in India pleading them to declare August 10th as “A Day of Prayer for Legal Protection of Unborn Children” and observe the day by offering Mass, praying for an end to abortion. This ‘Day of Remembrance’ will serve threefold purpose: to do penance for the mass murder of innocent children, to pray for the legal protection of unborn children and for the forgiveness and healing of those involved in it and to speak about it so that people will be encouraged to Defend Life.

Was it fruitful? Of course. Seven Bishops and a priest wrote back. They acknowledged the problem, appreciated the effort, and even took time to read the full letter, assuring that they would offer Mass on August 10th as well as encourage other priests to do the same. His Excellency Bishop Alex Vadakumthala Archbishop of Kannur encouraged this humble effort saying ‘it is a timely reminder’ for him to give priority to the pro-life ministry. He chose to speak on the topic of ‘Sanctity of Life’ in Shalom Mirror a live TV show the following week.

Archbishop Peter Machado, Archbishop of Bangalore, Fr. Pepin Gnana head of Family Commission in Archdiocese of Calcutta, Bishop Thomas Dabre, Bishop of Poona, His Excellency Mar Paul Alappatt, Bishop of Ramanathapuram, Bishop Chacko Thottumariackal, Bishop of Indore, His Excellency Mar George Njaralakatt, Archbishop of Telicherry and Archbishop Leo Cornelio, the Archbishop of Bhopal were kind enough to respond and assured me that they would offer Mass on August 10th.

Will this trivial effort change the dynamics? Well I can say yes without a slightest doubt because, we’re speaking about offering the Holy Sacrifice of Mass.

There is no stopping abortion without the Eucharist. Abortion is murder. It is on a scale today greater than all previous combined abortion murders in human history. Public demonstrations and statements of all kinds and sizes are all very important. They offer the opportunity for the pro-life Catholic to publicly identify before the world where he or she stands. We must put first things first to know and understand that behind every abortion is the devil, a murderer from the beginning. Our own human resources are entirely inadequate. Divine grace is absolutely necessary to stop abortion. All graces come through Jesus Christ in His human nature. The primary source of these graces is Holy Mass, Holy Communion and Holy Adoration of our Lord in His Real Presence.”

UNMGCY jokes about Population Control and calls for One Child Policy

Eric Assoudrin of World Watch called for a more daring approach to promote One Child Policy in order to promote sustainable development. Cheered on by the moderator at a session, which took place at UN, he called for ‘political will’ to push one-child policy.

In a side event organized by the UN Major Group for Children and Youth (UNMGCY)  titled “Dialogue on Emerging Issues: Keeping the 2030 Agenda Relevant in a ‘Changing World’ – The only sustainable growth is degrowth”, panelists discussed various topics related to sustainable development.

At one point during the Q&A, a specific question was raised on what would be sustainable levels of population? This clearly caused discomfort among some of the panelists. However, Eric Assoudrin had an immediate answer. According to him, it is 2 billion as proposed by Paul Elrich, the famous Malthusian who himself acknowledged that his predictions regarding overpopulation ‘have not come to pass’.

“Am going to wade into the hornets’ nest of trying to answer the population question.” He joked as he began to answer the question. “There has been a lot of research on sustainable levels. And-Paul Elrich and John Holdren did one estimate of roughly 2 billion people and that was probably 15 years ago that that estimate was done. So we’ve done a lot more damage since then. it really depends on how much we consume right? Paul Elrich and John Holdren also were the ones behind the human impact equals population multiplied by affluence or consumption multiplied by technology. So if we can find the political will to live the Cuban lifestyles well low material affluence but good social services, good infrastructure, good education then we can sustain more people. Than if we all try to live these unjust kinds of high consumer lifestyles with pools of poverty you know in the slums around us.  But really it’s smaller than 7.5 billion and its certainly smaller than 9.6 billion where we’re heading or even higher. So we have to find some sort of political will just like around contract and converge around carbon emissions.. We’ll have to find some way to normalize and open up the conversation again around population because even in the American environmental movement we’ve…there’s a taboo now, talking about population control which is you know red flag word but whatever you want to call it. You just can’t just focus on giving families family planning access without the information, without the cultural normalization of smaller families and then….it’s interesting , I just worked on a project called Earth Education- we were looking at what children need to know for the shifting ecological realities that they have been born into. In some countries like Netherlands and other Scandinavian countries they have great comprehensive sexuality education starting around age six. It talks about female equality, it talks about sex, it talks about appropriate touching everything from a very early age. It’s not just about giving access to reproductive technology which we’re struggling even to do that basic minimum in this country for example. But really normalizing the conversation of sex, family size of pushing in the same way that we push people to consume more through advertisement. We should start talking about and normalizing conversation around ideal family size which in truth might be of one child families more and more if that is…if we can find that political will and normalize one child families. That’s the only realistic path other than coercion to get us–.or epidemics– to get us to a smaller population which is essential.”

The side event was a part of High Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development organized at UN headquarters. Even though the conference hall was equipped to record the session, no documentation of the event was found except for a live video streamed by one of the panelists.

Eric’s comment “if we can find that political will and normalize [the] one child family that’s the only realistic path other than coercion” does not make sense said Reggie Litte John, Founder and President of Women Without Frontiers. Little John who has worked extensively to expose the coercive one-child policy of China and its resultant, Gendercide, said “The only way to “normalize [the] one child family” is through coercion.  China has demonstrated that a One Child Policy can only be achieved through forced abortion, forced sterilization and forced contraception – all at the hands of womb police.  China has stated it has “prevented” 400 million lives through the One Child Policy — greater than the entire population of the U.S. and Canada combined.  They have stated that this is their contribution in the fight against global warming.  But people are more than walking carbon footprints.  Imposing a global one-child policy would throw women’s rights back to the dark ages.”

Earlier on July 11thcampaigns were organized outside the UN asking people to sign petitions calling for UN Secretary General to promote a small family norm. UN agencies ‘celebrated’ World Population Day by organizing sterilization and distributing contraception in several countries. The same month UNFPA honored two affiliates of Planned Parenthood for their efforts in population control.

More than half of the world’s population is below replacement level. China is planning to pay couples to have children and 26 states out of 29 states in India have reached below replacement fertility. Yet population control dominates conversations at UN. No matter the problems discussed population control seems to be the solution at UN.

Letter to Bishops in India

Your Excellency,                                                                                                       May 30, 2018

Greetings!

I’m writing to you for a very urgent cause and on behalf of poor lay brothers, sisters and families under your apostolic leadership, who in the poverty of our being, need you in this gravest hour of our times.

My name is Carmel Nisha Pius Franco. I’m the daughter of The Archdiocese of Madras- Mylapore, Chennai involved in service of the weakest and vulnerable of our society – the unborn, the sick, the dying. Those whose voice is often unheard or silenced deliberately.

I’m a pro-life activist from a very humble background, traveling between U.S. and India, involved in the cause for life through writing, speaking, activism, counseling women near abortion clinics, helping pregnancy centers etc. However, it is not on my account that I write to Your Excellency but only in the worthy name of Jesus Christ and our beloved Mother to bring to your attention the urgent need of your people.

India is under attack. It has always been the focus of proponents of Eugenics and population control. While some of the problems highlighted by the propaganda machinery seem legitimate they often have hidden agendas and inhumane solutions to human problems. The prime example is the state-sponsored murder of unborn children as a solution to poverty reduction. Rather than eradicating poverty, it began to eradicate children by violent and extreme methods of abortion. Rather than finding a cure for genetic abnormalities, it began eliminating children with disabilities in the womb. Rather than enhancing the dignity of women, it turns women against their own children and families brainwashing them to think that motherhood is a burden and always an obstacle to empowerment. Rather than teaching families in the path of Responsible Parenthood (Humanae Vitae no.10) it pushes artificial contraceptives (they are mostly abortifacients) erasing the sacredness of  ‘marital act’ and God’s purpose for human sexuality. The prophecy of Blessed Pope Paul VI in his encyclical Humane Vitae is actually happening around the globe and especially in our country India.

These activities are not accidental occurrences or random events. They are well-planned actions of few people executed in a systematic fashion in India as well as other poor and developing nations. They push these policies through various UN organizations like WHO, UNICEF and UNFPA. They collaborate with huge non-profit corporates like Bill and Melinda Gates, Ford Foundation, George Soro’s Open Foundation, McArthur Foundation, Planned Parenthood, Marie Stopes International.  They influence, fund and push many of our government policies in collaboration with other local NGO’s. They create and spread false alarms and panic over country’s problems in order to gain blind acceptance or even celebration of evils like abortion, euthanasia, assisted suicide, embryo experimentation, cloning, egg freezing, surrogacy, sperm/egg harvesting, unethical artificial reproductive technologies, organ trafficking etc

16 Million Abortions in one year

While these policies encountered strong opposition in many western countries, it was quite easily adopted and implemented aggressively in India. One good example would be the legalization of Abortion in our country. August 10, 1971, India legalized abortion two years before the United States of America, one of the most liberal countries in the world. While there have always been some elements of Culture of Death in India- the normalization and celebration of evil through state sponsorship shows signs of dangerous and troubling times.

As Your Excellency might already know that there is an organized effort in India to lift the current ban on abortion from 20 weeks to 24 / 26 weeks and with a hidden agenda in the policy to even make it on-demand. Recently Passive Euthanasia was legalized in India. It laid down the foundation for active euthanasia. Many Indian research institutions have been conducting experiments on embryos. Organ trade has killed more people under the disguise of ‘brain dead’. Our children are sexualized through government’s RKSK program and are taught to ask for contraceptives and abortion without parental knowledge and consent. With the widespread prevalence of IVF clinics, children formed outside the womb are discarded at an enormous rate. Human life and dignity are targeted and exploited both inside and outside the womb in our country.

A recent research study conducted by Guttmacher Institute and IIPS institute in Mumbai found that almost 16 million abortions were performed in India in 2015. 16 million innocent children murdered in just one year. We do not know yet how many lives are lost to abortion since 1971 or how many are killed through euthanasia or how many embryos are left to die or purposely killed by selective reduction in the sprawling IVF clinics of our country.

This holocaust compels me to beg your attention. Your Excellency, we must do something. We cannot say ‘I do not know, am I my brother’s keeper’ (Pope John Paul II, Evangelium Vitae no.08)

In my capacity of working with C-FAM (the primary organization that defends life, Holy See and the family at United Nations), being trained by Monsignor Dr. Philip Reilly (the founder and director of Helpers of God’s Precious Infants who has traveled to 6 continents and have worked with hundreds of Bishops in U.S, Europe and elsewhere in conducting powerful prolife witness), being a coworker with Sisters of Life-( a contemplative active religious community whose charism is the protection and enhancement of the sacredness of every human life), most importantly in my capacity of working to build a culture of life in India, I see and realize from my experience that the countries/communities that are vigorously prolife when Catholics and their Catholic Bishops led the charge. A clear example of this can be seen in America where Bishops are unapologetically Pro-life and encourage priests and people to do likewise. They conduct prayer vigils outside abortion clinics, they support local projects that help women in crisis pregnancy, they head healing retreats for men and women hurt by abortion, they instruct people on crucial decisions like end of life care. Among the pro-life apostolate, the most important act of them is having a National day of remembrance with the offering of the Holy Sacrifice of Mass for the anniversary of the legalization of abortion in their country. This helped me as a Catholic to bring to my attention and provides an opportunity to speak against the evil and strike a conversation with the faithful on its deadly effects.

Mass and National Day of Remembrance for the Unborn

As our beloved Pope St. John Paul II reminds us in Evangelium Vitae (no.96-100), we are called to defend life and build a culture of life through concrete measures all of which begins with the formation of conscience and the renewal of this culture. Growing up under the protection of our Catholic tradition, on solemn days of remembrance, I always had pondered about the cause. It gave me and many of fellow brothers and sisters an opportunity to remember, to pray and commit ourselves to the cause. Your Excellency, with the tragedy of abortion and evils of the culture of death happening in our midst, we should have a ‘Day of Remembrance for the unborn children killed by legalized abortion in India’. It should be on August 10th the anniversary of legal abortion in the country (August 10, 1973). On this day of solemn remembrance, Mass should be offered across the dioceses for the reparation of grave sins committed against human life and the dignity of the human person through abortion in our country.

As Pope John Paul II says: ‘whoever attacks human life, in some way attacks God himself.’ It is only fitting that these crimes which are orchestrated by the power of the evil one can only be dealt with the most supernatural weapon at our disposal- The Eucharist. ‘Behind every murder is the evil one’ (Evangelium Vitae 08) and so is behind every abortion the power of evil displayed. Fr. John Harden (Servant of God) said ‘There is no stopping of Abortion without the Eucharist’.

Remembering the day of the legalization of Abortion

When human life is not respected inside the womb, it will not be treated with dignity and reverence outside the womb. It is meaningless to try and solve other problems and human rights abuses of people without addressing the issue of abortion. “If we accept that a Mother can kill her own child, what is left for us to kill each other?” – St. Teresa of Calcutta Legalization of murder, justification of this intrinsically evil act and celebration of this human sacrifice marks with clarity the destruction of the society. The legalization of abortion opened the doors for Euthanasia and other dangerous evils Ever since the legalization of abortion all evil that was once unthinkable became justifiable.

Your Excellency! I beg you, we must act now and act with diligence. It is already too late.

Abortion is happening in Christian homes, in Catholic households in India. Your Excellency must have encountered this in your ministry to God’s people in your respective diocese. But we are beyond abortion at this stage. Catholic couples are taking refuge to abortifacients, unethical artificial reproductive technologies and becoming complicit in the attack against human life. Manipulating embryos as a commodity to be designed, ordered and purchased to one’s own liking. Elders are deserted, sick are treated as a burden and on the mask of false compassion put to death.

Dearest father, am sure you would agree with me that before doing any programs or campaigns in dealing with this ‘Culture of Death’ in India first of all, we need the help of God. Because these are not simply social evils as the secular world looks at them. These are not ‘developmental issues’ or ‘political issues’ it is most of all a spiritual battle. The battle between good and evil. We need the help of God. With the Mass on the Day of remembrance, we would have recourse to God, reparation of sins and reaching the conscience of people.

“A great prayer for life is urgently needed, a prayer which will rise up throughout the world. Through special initiatives and in daily prayer, may an impassioned plea rise to God, the Creator and lover of life, from every Christian community, from every group and association, from every family and from the heart of every believer.” – Pope Saint John Paul II, Evangelium Vitae, no. 100*

I beg Your Excellency for the sake of your people and on behalf of the 400 million innocent unborn children murdered so far in our Indian soil through abortion to offer in your diocese Solemn Mass on August 10th remembering the mass murder of unborn children and making it as a day of prayer for the legal protection of unborn children..

I have attached some supporting documents that might help in this special task along with my contact information. I make myself available at your service to help parishes under your care in any way I can through all possible means in this task if Your Excellency wishes and permits.

Also, I wish to acknowledge the fact of my unworthiness. I dared to approach you only as a daughter would approach her father in times of anguish and need, for the sake of and on behalf of our people who are unable to speak for themselves and whose silent screams should not be left unheard. I would like to thank Your Excellency for the time and submit hopefully to Your grace and God’s providence.

Respectfully Yours in Christ,

Cradle of Love – Remembering Brave Moms on Mother’s Day

Mother’s day is celebrated across cultures in some way or the other. Though highly commercialized, our culture seems to be in need of this day as it might be the only occasion for some moms to hear from their children. While families and organizations have their own way of celebrating this day, we do it through hosting ‘Cradle of Love’ in our parish.

Newbies to the prolife movement (including myself) often ask these questions: What can I do? What can I do about this abortion holocaust? What can I do to stop abortion? What can a single person do about such a massive evil? If I were to answer them, I would ask them to begin with ‘The Cradle of Love’ project in their community.

Why Cradle of Love?

Cradle of Love (2016)

Cradle of Love is an easy and fun project which people from all walks of life can do. It is very powerful since it creates a direct impact in the community, by supporting crisis pregnancy centers (CPC) which help women vulnerable to abortion. CPC’s provide life-affirming options to pregnant women. They often help with more than just counseling or ultrasound services. CPC helps mothers with schooling, rent, shelter, medical and legal assistance and also adoption. Often, they continue to support mothers even after pregnancy. Unlike abortion centers, the services offered in CPCs are completely free in most cases.

How it’s done?

A Cradle/crib is decorated and set up in front of the Church or a prominent place for people to see. Cradle of Love contacts the nearest CPC to aks what items they’re in need of at that particular moment.  Tags containing the names of the required items like diapers, baby wipes, reusable maternity items, toiletries, baby clothes are tied to the decorated cradle for people to take. People are informed about the event through announcement or bulletin to take the tags that they can afford and bring back the items the following week.

The items are handed over to CPC exactly as given by the community. People often take extra care to show their love and how much they care through attractive packages and little notes for the pregnant mother.

Recourse to conscience through beauty

Cradle of Love (2018)

The Cradle of Love accomplishes several things. It reminds people in the most gentle and beautiful manner of their duty towards their neighbor (the pregnant mother vulnerable to abortion). It gives parents the chance to instruct their children  about the issue of abortion. It shows women that they’re loved and not simply judged, and, it gives people a chance to make a direct impact and be an active participant in the prolife movement.

The beauty of Cradle of Love appeals to the conscience of the community in a powerful and positive manner. Having to host this project doesn’t cost a lot except for few dollars for balloons and ribbons. Oh yes! The crib doesn’t count because we always get them for free from craigslist and once the event is done even the crib goes to a loving home for the new baby. If setting up a crib seems like a challenge then go for a bassinet over a table. There’s lots of room to be creative and to make it interesting. You could do it on your own or with a friend or with a group.

Having Cradle of Love on Mother’s Day helps us to be in solidarity with mothers in difficult situation. It also appreciates mothers who made the brave choice to give life amidst the most difficult circumstances. Even though it might seem small and simple, it creates a ripple effect in the community. It is also counter cultural. When governments and institutions are presenting women with abortion as a quick fix to their hardship, they only magnify and multiple the problems. By offering our support, we send a message to the world that women do not have to kill their children to achieve their dreams.

Infanticide in India: Abortion devalues human life both before and after birth

In two separate incidents this past week, newborn babies were brutally murdered by their own parents in India. In both cases, the babies escaped abortion but ended up facing similar violence after being born. Clearly, if human life is not respected inside the womb from the beginning, it can more easily be devalued immediately after birth […]

Representing India at March for Life 2018

What is the use of living in US and not participating in March for Life? What’s the point of being an Indian and not representing India at this event? Especially when President Trump has reinstated Mexico City Policy stopping US tax payer funded abortions abroad including India. So off we drove to Washington D.C with our sign to thank Trump Administration or at least to let people know about it and show our gratitude. Come on! more than 40 -60 million U.S. dollars spent annually on abortion in India so far will be redirected from now on to life affirming projects and how can we not thank the Trump administration for this? especially when Indian pro choice media is busy trashing President (#globalgagrule)?

So glad the message was well received by people. We got a handful of them stop us and ask more details about the Mexico City Policy and how it affected India. A couple of them took pictures and it caught the eye of few media as well. Most of all people promised us with prayers for an end to the Culture of Death in India.

Because the reality that 16 million innocent children were killed in one year in India is something that should give us sleepless nights. The numbers are huge, the tragedy is monstrous, there’s too much involved and what a singe person can do? this is the question many people ask me. Yes, it is huge, it is filthy big, it is monstrous but what a single person can do depends upon the person’s conviction to proclaim the truth and to defend life and one’s faith in God.

While almost a million Americans were marching in D.C remembering the victims of abortion holocaust and the day it was legalized in their country we marched for the babies in America by abortion as well as the babies killed in India through same way with American taxpayer money. Trust me! we got thousands of them giving thumbs up and hundreds quite surprised at our post. At the end of the day so many of these people came to know about the abortion holocaust happening in India, with and without American funds and gained solidarity in standing up for life.

March for Life 2018 – one of the unforgettable experience.  Pray, wish and hope for such a movement in India to defend our unborn Indians. Shame on us Indians that we go about eating drinking and partying as our unborn brothers and sisters are killed in India in the name of population control and development. But this shall not remain the same. It shall change, when you and me begin to do what we can do.

“. . . we are facing an enormous and dramatic clash between good and evil, death and life, the “culture of death” and the “culture of life”. We find ourselves not only faced with but necessarily in the midst of this conflict: we are all involved and we all share in it, with the inescapable responsibility of choosing to be unconditionally pro-life.” (Evangelium Vitae
